Prefetch disabled?

Pyton Chacalos

Whenever I defrag my drives, I usually go in and clear my
prefetch folder as well. Today I noticed the prefetch
folder was empty. How can I reenable it? Current setting

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Sessio
n Manager\Memory Management\PrefetchParameters\Enable
Prefetcher\REG_DWORD\0x00000003(3)

Pyton,

According to your settings the XP Prefetcher seems to be enabled on your device.

Is it XPe device or you are playing with XP Pro machine?
If it is XPe, just in case check out the registry settings of "Session Manager (Windows subsystem)" component in your configuration.
If it is XP Pro, please post your question to microsoft.public.windowsxp.general newsgroup.

KM. Thank you for the response. My son visited me this
weekend. When I saw the problem I ran AVG (up to date)
virus scan and got a clean report. After posting I ran
the symantec on line scan, and found 22 files infected
with W32. SPYBOT. That's the 1st time AVG has let me
down. I guess I need to spank them AND my kid. said:
