PPT Slideshow...Can it be converted to pdf?

I've received some pdf files lately that behave like a PPS file. What I mean
is, when I double-click the pdf file, it opens a "presentation" that has
slides. The presentation is advanced by clicking "previous" and "next"
buttons embedded on the slide. Could this have been created with PowerPoint,
or more likely some other Adobe application like Pagemaker?

Close, but not quite. This app did a decent job of creating the slides in pdf
format, but the "nex/previous" action buttons to navigate through the
presentation aren't active, and the animations (builds, entrance/exit
effects) don't work either.

Done....I have Acrobat Professional, although it's an older verion (v6 I
think). I can't find anything in the Acrobat doc that explains how to create
a PDF slideshow. It shows how to convert a ppt file to a pdf, but that just
creates a printable version of the ppt file with one slide per page. I'm not
concerned about printing the ppt, I want to be able to create a pdf slideshow
presentation the viewer can advance similar to if they were playing the
slideshow in powerpoint directly.

Are you sure it's a pdf file? Because a web file made from ppt behaves as
you describe

That version is just fine, click on help, Index, S, and then scroll down to
Slide Presentation. You will find how to set it up there.

available options in Acrobat's Document Properties. Thanks for your help!
