PPT 2007 won't correctly display Postcript (Type 1) fonts in large size

When I use any of my Postscript Type 1 fonts in PPT 2007 on a Vista machine,
the will not display correctly above 65.5points size.

What happens is that the text will have all the characters piled up on top
of each other, and the whole mess raised above the baseline. If the
selected text is made smaller than/equal to 65.5 points, it displays fine
again. If it's changed to a TrueType font, it displays fine in any size.

The Type 1 fonts work fine in Word 2007 at any size. They work fine in PPT
2003 on my XP machine in any Size.

I've installed the Type 1 fonts directly though Vista's control panel fonts
tool, I'm not using ATM or other font managers.

Anyone else experience this?

Replicated here in 2007 on Windows XP/Pro, so it's clearly not a Vista bug.
That'd seem to drop it in PPT's lap, all right.

I'll pass it up the line.

Thanks. Glad to know it's not just me.

Wonder what's so magical about 66.5 points?

It's (roughly) 24 more than 42, the answer to Life, The Universe and
Everything? And 24 is 42 spelled backwards.

That's an awfully big disparity for an "approximation". twice 33 1/3 is
closer, but who knows what that number means any more?

Remember "Serutan spelled backwards is Natures?"

Ok, heading back to the home now.

ROFL! Take time to smell the flowers and read the Burma Shave signs.
