PPT 2003 Package for CD

Rob

I have a one slide presentation called Index, that has
links to eight other presentations. Some of these other
presentations have links to pdf and Word files. I
have "Packaged for CD" with an auto run to my Index
presentation and included the Powerpoint viewer, linked
files and embedded the fonts. During this process some of
the pdf files, ppt presentations cannot be copied. I get
this error message: One or more of your presentations
contain macros, linked programs, linked objects, or
embedded objects. They will not work in the PowerPoint
Viewer. Do you want to continue" I tried continuing.

When I insert the finished CD, the Index presentation
opens automatically but some of the links do not work.

If I manually burn a CD without any auto-run actions then
all of the linked presentations, pdf's and Word docs work
fine.

Any work-arounds?
Thanks,
Rob

Package for CD is warning you about a constraint of the PowerPoint 2003
Viewer. For security reasons Microsoft designed the Viewer in such a way
that it doesn't allow you to view links to files that "may" contain macros.
In your last paragraph you mention testing a CD, but you were probably not
running the presentation in the Viewer, right?

We have a work around in Autorun CD Project Creator Pro. You might want to
take it for a trial run and see how you can create an autorun CD that works
with links to PDF, DOC, XLS, and HTML files.

You are correct, I was not running the test using the
viewer. Thanks for the quick reply and I will try using
Autorun CD Project Creator Pro.
Thanks again,
Rob
