PPT 2003 animation not viewed correctly by 2000 users

Has anyone had this problem? I created a presentation using the new
animation features in PPT 2003 and sent to several people as a PPS file.
Those with Office 2000 didn't see the animation properly.

That's to be expected, as PPT 2000 doesn't support the new features
(animations and transitions, mostly) introduced in PPT 2003.

Have those users download and install the free PPT 2003 Viewer.

This is a problem also when trying to do replay a slide show in
powerpoint 2003, which contained animations and was created in
powerpoint 97. ie Powerpoint does not appear to be backwardly
compatible where animations are concerned.

Any graphics which are part of an animation do not appear (for
example if you have a long-ish animation made up of objects
appearing then disappearing in a sequence, then they do not play
properly in a slide show - despite having worked perfectly well in
ppt97.)

Anyone found any solutions to this???

Regards,
John

Does your animation sequence use "hide on next mouse click" (or whatever
that setting is/was)?

In addition to Echo's suggestion, check Help, About PowerPoint. Make sure
you've got SP1 applied. If not, PPT may not be able to display some graphics
from earlier versions.
