pps slide show window size

I maintain a website for a community org where I post tons of event pictures.
I created a pps slide show with 150 pics/slides of 1600x1000 res but the file
size was 82meg. I tried two approaches (1) reize to 800x600 and then create
the pps, and (2) use the picture compress feature of PPoint to set to 96 dpi.
Both methods did bring the file size down to a managble 10meg; however, the
pictures obviously lost their resolution and look not so good when the pps is
displayed full screen (greater than 800x600).

How can I set a pps file such that I can use the 800x600 pics and have the
pps display at 800x600 no matter what res the users screen is set to. In
other words, force the pps to display in 800x600 and not resize to full
screen. thanks.

Kev,

Generally powerpoint will display your presentation at the same resolution
as your windows desktop resolution. So set you windows resolution to 800x600

Newer versions of powerpoint allow you to choose what resolution to use...
slideshow menu > setup slideshow.

I don't believe this is possible, at least not with a PPS, but you could output
each slide to e.g. a JPG at the resolution you want and use that to make a
simple HTML page.

Info here about controlling PPT's resolution:

We have an addin that would automate this, preserve links and more.

Thanks guys...one point I didn't make clear...it's the hundreds of users that
are viewing the web that I have no control over. Some will be 800x600, some
1024x768, etc etc. Thus the expansion to "full screen" as relative to user is
what's out of my control. thanks much...Kev

That's sort of what I figured. Do have a look, then, at
http://www.pptools.com/ppt2html/ (if a relatively inexpensive add-in purchase is
a possibility, that is).

It lets you spec the sizes at which images are to appear in the HTML.
