PPS opens as PPT?

I've got a link to a PowerPoint slide show, a PPS file. When I mouse-over the
link, it shows that it's a .PPS file, but when I click on it, a dialog box
asks if I want to run or save the .PPT file. If I click Open, it'll run the
..PPS slide show, but if I click save, it saves it as .PPT.
The file on the web site is definitely a .PPS file.
Why wouldn't it consistently show .PPS?????
Thanks,
tom

That behavior depends on the file extension associations options for
your windows PC. Either "you" changed them, or at one time you clicked
Yes to a suggested option for a dialog. You can change them "back" from
the Folder Options.

Kathleen,
Thanks for the reply. Since we use an outside host (NTT Verio), is this
something they'd need to do? If so, I'm surprised that it wouldn't already be
set up that way.
