PPP error or internet not responding

when i start the internet i got the message and verifying the password not responding

PPP parameter negotiation did not succeed because the local and remote computers did not agree on a common set of parameters. i try the two or three time then conect the internet.
plz help me.

Has this worked before, or this a first time error?

It might be worth using "system restore" to roll back to when it worked if it has just happened?

i install the xp on few days ago, and i got the message avery time then conect the internet,
and how can i
start>
settings>
control panel>
add or remove programs>
add/remove windows components>
networking services
and check the simple TCP/IP services
or not
please tell me
