When I click on the powerpoint icon to open a powerpoint file, the file does
not open because it starts the microsoft picture viewer. However, I can open
the powerpoint file from within the application. Why does clicking on the
powerpoint icon open the microsoft picture viewer? Any help you can give or
suggest would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Right click on the icon, select properties, and see what program it is pointing
towards.
