PowerPoint Show not Opening in IE

I seem to be having difficulty trying to make a pps file (Power Point
Show file) open directly to a powerpoint show in Internet Explorer.
When you click on the .pps hyperlink it opens up in powerpoint and you
can edit the file (which is not what i want - need it to go directly
to the powerpoint show)

If you click on the link using firefox, then it opens up in a show
fine.

I have tried setting the file associations to set pps files to open in
PowerPoint viewer but this didnt make a difference.

I have also tried setting the Mime type on the server to accept the
file type which didnt make a difference either

It seems that the only computers that are effected are ones that have
powerpoint installed.

If you put the original PPS file to Website, when you click it, it will
open through PowerPoint program by default, so it can not play
automatically.

I recommend that you convert your PPS file to Flash or video, and then insert
the Flash file or video to your Web, then the Flash can be shown automatically.
Using some third party tools, you can convert it with all the original effects retained.

Go to google, and search the tool.
