There is stupid bug in PowerPoint...

It is impossible to create a link to other place in the same document when
there is a comma in the heading of the slide I want my link to point on...
Even the slide preview is not available in the Edit hyperlink window.

I dont understand how is it possible this is not fixed yet :(((
Bug is in PowerPoint 2003 and 2007 as well...

I agree. This is a stupid bug, and I don't understand why it hasn't been
fixed in PowerPoint 2000 (let alone 2007; the bug has been there since
hyperlinks were introduced in PowerPoint 97). It has to do with the way
PowerPoint stores internal hyperlinks. The storage method uses commas to
separate different pieces of information. That's not an excuse, just an
explanation.

The workaround to this (other than not using commas in slide titles) is
to duplicate the slide title. Move the real slide title off the viewable
portion of the slide and keep the duplicate on the slide. Remove the
comma from the real slide title. The comma will show up on the slide (in
the duplicate slide title) and hyperlinks will work.

Note that everyone in this newsgroup is a user, just like you. None of
us are Microsoft employees so this a good place to blow off a little
steam, but it is not a good place to report bugs to be fixed.

Right...this is what I hate...Microsoft is releasing new versions one after
another, new skin, new button layout and bugs are still the same. But does
not matter, the main is that people are buying it...

I am not sure if I fully understood your solution, but I think it is easier...
You can just delete the comma from the heading, set the link and then put
the comma back to the heading...The link will work.

I though this forum is moderated, by Microsoft employees...
Is there any place where to report bugs?

Hi John,

Thanks, I know about this solution...
I was just asking if this can be fixed as an office update. And I am
wondering how is it possible that this bug isn't fixed for ages...

We can usually kick the bugs up for you. I know they're aware of this one
already.

You can also post the bug here on the newsgroup as a suggestion. The
suggestions with the most votes are supposed to bubble to the top somehow so
the MS folks becom aware of them.
