Powerpoint 2007 tech refresh crash when printing (app restarts)

Guest

Hi,

I've noticed that I can crash PP 2007 tech refresh _repeatedly_ when
printing some slides. It doesn't happen all the time, but some slides from
presentations created using PP 2003 will cause a PP restart.

I can't see anything across other apps. I can print fine from Word, Acrobat,
IE etc

Are there logs etc I can look at that might help diagnose this problem, or
at least be fed back to MS developers???

printing to a Xerox "FX Document Centre C360 PS"
using Vista RC2 build 5744 (sorry, I should have mentioned that).

I believe we've just fed the crash info from the event log back into MS?

If you follow the steps outlined here:
http://blogs.msdn.com/descapa/archive/2006/07/19/670384.aspx
And adapt them to PowerPoint, can you post the crash bucket number here?
I'll take it to MS and see if I can find out anything about your crash.

Microsoft got back to me:
This is caused by one or more corrupt printer drivers on Vista, when
printing from PowerPoint.

It is fixed in later builds but the workaround for B2TR is to remove all
printer drivers from Vista and then reinstall the printer driver you
want
to use (if you have only one printer driver and it's not corrupt or
damaged
in any way, the problem should go away).
