PowerPoint 2007 Re-installs whenever it runs

PowerPoint 2007 is installed as part of Office 2007. All other apps work
fine. Powerpoint runs the office installer whenever it starts up and, every 5
goes or so, asks to re-enter the product key. The installer and re-entered
product key work, but this is within a corporate environment and therefore
not an acceptable solution.

Further: This seems to be a permissions issue - it does not happen when
logged in as local or domain admin. When logged in as a standard user who has
local admin rights, the installer runs. I even tried installing Office as the
user, but results the same: admins can run Powerpoint without the installer
kicking in, but users cannot, even when they have admin rights.

Once again, any help most welcome!

You might try asking in the Office General Questions or Office Setup
groups -- they deal more with these kinds of setup questions than we do
here.

You may end up having to call Microsoft on this one, though.
