I've been using the file encryption option in PowerPoint 2002 for a while now to protect my presentations

I usually accomplish this under "tools, options, security, file encryption for this document" and set a password to modify

Recently I've been trying to protect my work but the file encryption option is no longer available. It is greyed out
Would anyone know what I have to do to get this option back

Thanks in advanc

I don't use this feature to often, as readers still using older versions of
PowerPoint cannot open them, when protected. What you might do is search your
system for 'PPT10.pcb' and rename it, Then start PowerPoint and see if you
security option is returned.

MC,
Have you by any chance turned on the options to disable new password
features in the Edit tab of the Options dialog (Tools | Edit tab) ?

Yes it worked!
I must have disabled the password protection by mistake.

Thanks for your help. You've made my day!

Cheers
