power outage problem

Hi, I'm running Window XP, today we had a power outage, after getting my
computer up and running again I had some problems, 1. The small boxes in the
right upper corner of all windows where you can minimize, maximize and close
come up but do not have there little symbols in them(they still work) 2. When
I open up the favorites the box it opens and I get the icons but the name of
the item is not there, they also still work though. 3. when I go to the start
menu I cannot open programs to get my other menu(just a blank box). Has any
one had any like problems after a power outage and any thoughts on this I
would be very thankful for! (I did try to restore, nohelp, and run my nortons
with all its checks. Thankyou
