Power Failure During Defrag

I posted this another group and got only one response. I would
appreciate any advice.

In the middle of defragging my "C" drive the power failed for about 40
minutes. No UPS of course. After power returned, the computer boots OK
and everything looks OK. BUT, what would be a worst case scenario? Is
there a corrupted file lurking somewhere? Or a corrupted registry
entry? Should I use an available backup and start fresh?
