Pound-stirling sign prints as a u with an acute accent

Help please!!!!

I am using MsOffice 97 and suddenly when I print out an Excel spread
sheet containing the GBP sign, the GBP sign prints out as the letter u
with an acute accent. On the screen display, it shows as the GBP
sign. If however I use the print preview, it also shows as the u
sign.

This strange behaviour only seems to happen in Excel, everything is as
it should be in Word, Notepad and Wordpad. It even previews and
prints correctly in Word if I copy and paste a section of the
spreadsheet containing the GBP sign into a word document.

Please can anyone tell me how to get back my errant GBP sign - please,
please, pretty please.

TIA

Ant

Hi

This sounds like a printer / printer driver problem - particularly if it
shows the same on Print Preview. Check that your printer driver is right,
that you're using the correct one, and that it is up-to-date.

Andy.

Hi Andy,

Many thanks for your reply, updating to the latest driver solved the
problem :)

Again, many thanks,

Ant
