POP3 setting not working

Below is what I am getting...? why can I not get this to work....?


The rejected e-mail address was '(e-mail address removed)'. Subject 'test',
Account: 'Windows Mail', Server: 'smtp.live.com', Protocol: SMTP, Server
Response: '550 5.7.3 Requested action aborted; user not authenticated', Port:
25, Secure(SSL): Yes, Server Error: 550, Error Number: 0x800CCC78

You have to use authentication...
Tools - Accounts - youraccount - Properties - Servers
[x] My outgoing server requires authentication

as per the instructions...
POP server: pop3.live.com (Port 995)
POP SSL required? Yes
User name: Your Windows Live ID, for example (e-mail address removed)
Password: The password you usually use to sign in to Hotmail or Windows Live
SMTP server: smtp.live.com (Port 25 or 587)
Authentication required? Yes (this matches your POP username and password)
TLS/SSL required? Yes
