Pop ups

I am getting a pop up add every time I open MS internet
explorer or whenever I open a new window in MS internet
explorer. This started happening after I let my daughter
use my system. Is there some way other than a pop up
blocker to stop this? Because I think it is something
attached to the open MSIE command.
