Pop Up / Registry Question

Hello,

We have a PC here in the office that is getting chronic popups that programs
like SpyBot can't remove. He wont even be surfing and the browser will open
with a popup and when he does browse, he will get many more.

I've uninstalled any odd looking programs but I was wondering if there were
any registry entries I could safely remove that are common spyware apps?

He has Windows 2000 pro.
