Dear users and Microsoft,
My computer has been acting very weird. A window with a message keeps poping
up saying that I have been infected with both the beagle and Blackworm virus
and when I click "OK" or the "X" it takes me to a crappy website that askes
me to purchsae some software. I do not want to. I have scanned my computer
with my antivirus 2005, online antivirus by symatec, and your new defender
program and they can't find anything. Can anyone help me.. I hate these
pop-up things. They only come up every 30min to 1h but its still annoying.
Thanks

You can try the *detailed* malware removal instructions in my web-site:

Try this: download, install, update, and run

ad-aware personal edition
spybot search and destroy

Always remember - only download files from Trusted Sites.

The following links will take you to vendors sites for Spy Ware / Ad
ware removal tools and also for Antivirus tools. After you install any
of these applications and update them, run them in SAFE MODE to allow
them to properly clean your system.

These sites are for downloading Anti-Malware and Anti-Spyware tools, in
order that I would use them myself:

Dave Lipman's tools:
http://www.claymania.com/removal-trojan-adware.html
http://www.ik-cs.com/got-a-virus.htm

Secured2K's AntiPauper (download link/info at)
http://forums.mcafeehelp.com/viewtopic.php?t=65072

AdAwareSE can be found here:
http://www.lavasoft.de/support/download/

SpyBot Search and Destroy can be found here:
http://www.safer-networking.org/en/download/index.html

HiJack can be found here:
http://www.spywareinfo.com/~merijn/downloads.html

Ewido Security Suite Trial can be found here:
http://www.ewido.net/en/download/

CrapCleaner can be found at the vendors site here:
http://www.ccleaner.com/ccdownload.asp

CleanUp can be found at the vendors site here:
http://www.stevengould.org/software/cleanup/download.html
or from another reputable source:
http://www.tucows.com/get/405276_152071

The following are two links to Antivirus software in order that I would
use them:

You can also download Symantec Trial version of their Antivirus software
from here:
http://www.symantec.com/downloads/

Download AVG Personal Free edition from here:
http://free.grisoft.com/freeweb.php/doc/2/

You need to run Antivirus and Anti-Spyware in SAFE MODE in order to have
a good chance to clean your machine.

If your computer crashes you have serious problems.

Well , Ad-Aware SE Personal is only one of the three softwares essential for
the detailed removal instructions. It is listed there to scan in Safe Mode
with command prompt. To have success please follow strictly step by step.
If you are not sure for something , take your computer to *reputable*
professional computer shop and ask IT specialists for help.

Use SpyBot Search & Destroy & not that Adware SE because it does produce
false-positives

Spybot Homepage:

http://www.safer-networking.org

Direct Link:

http://projects.securitywonks.net/projects/download.php?go=2&file=2&mirror=2

Click country flag then click DOWNLOAD from the links on the left & then
choose a download mirror from the 4 that are there

Install it, run it, back up your registry, check for updates, start using
the program

Goto MODE menu & choose ADVANCED

Goto SETTING tab (Outlook Bar (bottom left)) & click FILE SETS

Tick the TRACKS ERASER & the others

Now choose the TOOLS tab (Outlook bar)

Tick:

ActivX
BHO's
Browser Pages
IE Tweaks
Hosts File
Process List
System Startup
Uninstall Info

if not selected

Close SPYBOT & re-open it

Click the SEARCH FOR UPDATES button again & see if you have all the latest
files. If not download then & restart SPYBOT

Click IMMUNIZE (blue/white shield) on the left & click the IMMUNIZE button &
it will say ... blocked

Now, click Search & Destroy button (on left) & then CHECK FOR PROBLEMS

Anything in RED, make sure is selected (ticked) & then delete them

The others like IE, LOGS, WINZIP... will be there in GREEN. If you want to
delete those items then select them before click the FIX SELECTED button

Also Note:

SETUPUI or something simular in the LOGS won't delete until reboot so select
the log files manually

Job done

Hi guys, After a couple hours of fixing. I fixed the problem. I used SpyBot
search and Destroy , and Norton Antivirus but I also found my final killer
the Trend Micro Housecall.. I really liked it and it fixed my problem
completely.
thanks all for your help

If download.com isn't a trusted site, it's because it's been hacked.
Otherwise, I don't see why you wouldn't trust it.

When a file, one as important as in this discussion, is needed, the
place to get it first is the vendors own site. This general rule means
you get the latest version, can see any information about the
application that the vendors believe you need to know, and you know you
are getting the proper file.

I'm not saying download.com is a rouge place, but, when it comes to
downloading a file that I want to trust, I'm going to trust the vendor
first, then major mirrors second, then smaller mirrors last, and never
some no-name site like we've seen from one pirate that use to be able to
post here.
