POP MSN rejected by Windows Vista Mail

I have an old MSN account that is NOT an HTTP account; it is a POP account
and that is the way I like it and want it to remain. I have had it since
1995 and I understand how to set it up in all kinds of environments, except
Vista Mail. When I go to create a new email account on my new Vista machine,
as soon as it sees the "MSN" domain, it assumes an HTTP account and stops
there, directing me to Live mail. I don't like live mail and don't want to
use it. I want to use a client-based POP / SMTP email account like the
Outlook Express I had on my XP system. Can anybody tell me how to get around
this? If there is no way to get around it, does anybody have ideas for a
different email client I could use that is a lot like Outlook Express?
Thanks.

You have to fool the new account wizard by first entering your email
address in such a way that WM doesn't recognize it as a HTTP account.
Enter something like (e-mail address removed) during account creation.
After the account is set up manually, you can go back and correct your
email address.
