Unable to setup MSN account in windows mail

I have a MSN account and am trying to setup my MSN account or hotmail account
in it and am getting message that i can not do that. Something about it being
an HTML account and that is not supported. SO then how does vista expect me
to get my email if it does not support MSN. Called MSN and they said to use
outlook express which Vista does not have. So how do i get email if Vista
does not support or have the tools for MSN ? Also how do i transfer all my
old account info?

Vista's Windows Mail is not smart enough to discern the difference between an http msn.com account and a legacy pop3 msn.com account.
Using Windows Live Mail is a great alternative since it provides functionality in both http and pop3 accounts.
If one prefers the Vista Windows Mail client for a pop3 msn.com address a non msn.com email address/domain needs to be used to setup the account. Once the account is setup, it can then be edited/modified with the appropriate email address, pop3/smtp etc settings.

MS-MVP Windows Live Mail

: Upgrade your Windows Mail to Windows Live Mail, and it will
: support your MSN and Hotmail accounts. It will also import any
: account info, settings, and emails from WM automatically.
