I last updated it in August. What is it you want changed ?

That's what we have.
I was simply speaking in general, not about your FAQ in particular.

Is there a freeware PrintDirectory program that
can prith the contents listing of a directory
and include the LongFileName?

For instance I have tried several that shorten the name
I have mostly mp3s that have long names and I would
like to print a listing that include the entire name and it
appears on the cd, not the short 8+3 that dos used.

Thanks
Bobby

I think that Karen's Directory Printer may be what you are looking for.

Believe it or not you can print a list of a directory in Win XP
without using any third party software. You can do it all
with the "cmd" command. For instance say you want to print out
all the files in "My Documents\My Pictures" You would just open up
the folder in Explorer. Once the folder is opened you would then hit
Start > Run > type in "cmd" without the quotes. An emulated Dos window
will open up with the path already set C:\My Documents\My Pictures
you would then type in:
dir > list.txt
What this will do is print out all the files in that folder.
The list.txt folder will be in the folder you scanned.
This was an old dos trick that worked in Win 98 too.
I had read that you couldn't do this in Win XP so I tried and
to my delight it worked. So really you can do this without a third
party program and it will print it out in long file names. Here is an
example of "My Pictures" folder with how the listing will look.

If you want a cleaner list try the command line switches to
the "dir" command - available by typing "dir /?"

In particular for your purposes:

/B Uses bare format (no heading information or summary).
/S Displays files in specified directory and all subdirectories.

In Windows ME this reverts to a xxxxxxxx.xxx name and I need a 20x.3 name.
Thanks for your help
