Polaroid digital camera

I am trying to connect an old Polaroid PDC-300 camera to
my E-machines computer. It connects to the computer via
the LPT1 connection port. I have the Windows XP home
edition. When I go to the Control Panel/scanners and
Cameras/Install/add an imaging device, it does not
present any polaroid options. Additionally, it does not
appear to recognize it as new hardware since it is not
connected through the USB. Any suggestions.

Hello

Do you ahve the most recent drivers for it, that could be
your problem, try to get the drivers of the maker of that
product website

That's the cute thing. Polaroid never updated the
drivers for the software, but they said to use the Pretec
DC-300 drivers. That allows me to view all of the shots
in the camera, but I can't get them to come into the PC
to be saved. I think it may just be that XP won't
recognize it.

I wouldn't recommend you connect this old device up to an XP machine.
Instead, I suggest you get a card reader for the camera. (Don't believe I've
seen a camera use a parallel port before. But both parallel and serial
devices are legacy - so old that they really aren't supported any more.)

good luck!

This camera cannot be used to download to XP. Polaroid has not updated
drivers for it. If this is one that has a compact flash card, a $20
card reader will work.
