Try locating your device driver cd, and then go through
the new hardware wizard, and cilck have disk, if you do
not have the disk, obtain the driver for your device
online, download it, then run the wizard and point it to
the location you saved the file.

already attempted this. i had a nother brand of reader and ended up having
company send driver as disk supplied did not have XP driver for reader on
disk as this new reader is the same. I have emailed and tried calling but
company is on Jewish holiday break. I believe no driver own disk because they
insist XP has what is needed. Is there maybe a problem with XP?

Hi !

Please check whether the Usb port through which you are trying to connect
your card reader is installed or not. If the USB port is not activated then
windowsXP may not be able to detect the device.

Thanks but it does recognize device but when it looks for driver it cannot
locate one. The disk supplied with reader does not have driver on it. I was
hoping there was a master driver area in MS that i could search for a driver
for my reader.
