Please Help / Task Manager problem, etc..

I can not open Task manager unless I boot to Safe Mode. I've tried
everything. I fixed the RPC prob., downloaded all patches, have scanned and
everything looks clean. PLEASE can someone point me in the right direction
to fix this.
Also, I am only able to open regedit after I renamed it to "regedit. com"
Any help would be much appreciated! Thanks.

This is a posting from MVP Doug Knox:

****Open a Command Prompt window and enter the following:

COPY C:\Windows\System32\Taskmgr.exe C:\Windows\System32\Taskmgr1.exe

Then

C:\Windows\System32\Taskmgr1.exe

Task manager should start. You can use this same technique to start Regedit
and MSCONFIG. RegEdit works when renamed to REGEDIT.COM, as well.

OK Thanks. That worked, but I still cant Ctrl+Alt+Del, or right click on
toolbar to open TaskManager. I'd just like to fix it so it's working
properly. Is there still a virus on my PC or what?
