Pleading for help . . . Problems with folders on new install

Installing Outlook 2002 on a Dell Latitude D410.

Have been at this a few hours. Must have goofed with initial install and
have been compounding the problem over and over again for the last several
hours.

I have been unable to download or send any mail. Initially I set up a pop3
email account and tested the account settings successfully.

There are now three personal folders:

1) Outlook Today - [Personal Folders]
When I try to open this I receive the following message: Unable to display
the folder. Microsoft Outlook could not access the specified folder
location. Could not open the item. Try Again.

2) Personal Folders
When I try to open this I receive the following message: Unable to display
the folder. Microsoft Outlook could not access the specified folder
location. The file C:\Documents and Settings\S....S......\Local
Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook\Personal Folders.pst could not
be found.

3) Personal Folders
This appears to be functional, and has a sub folder, Deleted Items.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled a couple times, but have been unable to
send or receive email. I really would like to go back to the initial
install with the Outlook Today folder that has all the default sub-folders.
Not sure what I did that locked it up but it has never opened up for me.

Any suggestions?????

The best solution is to start over with a new Outlook mail profile. Build it using the Mail applet in Control Panel.
