Playing VCD/DVD on computer

Windows XP Home SP2. I have a CD/DVD read and a CD/DVD read/record on my
Compaq PC but I cannot play movie VCD and DVD with these two. Do I need to
install a special program for that? Thanks for any input.

Thanks for the link. I'll get the WinDVD software. Media Player 10 needs a
"codec" that I'm unable to find.

Try VLC Player, it's free.
