Pivot Table Is Not in Order

I have been given a pivot table that already had six years of data in
it, and was told to add four more years data to it. I went into the
source document and added everything that needed to be added in the
correct places, and then refreshed the pivot table. The pivot table
added all of the new data correctly except for one thing - it isn't in
order. The data for years 1997 - 2003 are fine, but then the years
2004 - 2007 show up out of order (2005, 2006, 2004, 2007). Being a
beginner at pivot tables still, I just can't figure this out. Has
anyone ever had this problem before and come up with a solution?

Thanks!

In your heading, you can simply drag the years in whatever order you want
them. I have this problem, as well: it tends to alphebetise months.

To drag the parts you need, in the header (such as where the 2005 is in the
column headers of the pivot table) hold down the mouse button and move 2005
side to side to sit where you want it to go (presumably next to 2004). You
can reorder anything in this fashion, both on your row and column headers.

The nuance of moving these headers is you have to click the cell once, and
then move your cursor to the outside of the cell until the move arrow comes
up (that's the four-pointed arrow/compass-looking one). At that point you
can drag as necessary.
