Lately I've been having problems with IE. Text from web
pages load fine and I seem to have consistent bandwidth
based upon speeds I get with large downloads. However
after visiting a few websites, pics no longer load. When
this happens I can also no longer connect to my mail
server using Outlook Express. I also can still access my
computer via Remote Desktop when this is happening. The
problem disappears for a few moments after a reboot. Is
there some cache that is filling up and clears with a
reboot? Any ideas?

Hi cawley :)
Lately I've been having problems with IE. Text from web
pages load fine and I seem to have consistent bandwidth
based upon speeds I get with large downloads. However
after visiting a few websites, pics no longer load. When
this happens I can also no longer connect to my mail

problem disappears for a few moments after a reboot. Is
there some cache that is filling up and clears with a
reboot? Any ideas?

Try the following and see if it helps:

First try clearing the IE cache. I.E./Tools/Options/General/Delete files
(and
delete offline content.)
Click Apply
Click OK and close IE
Reopen IE and see if it works

or........

If still no joy.........

also try...................

Right click on the graphic you see and a pop up menu should appear. Select
"Show Picture" option.

Then, go to Internet Options>Advanced Tab

unchecked to display pictures all the time.

How to Activate Scaling
Internet Explorer 6 and later automatically adjusts the scale on higher
resolution systems when the DPI setting is higher than 96 DPI and the
"UseHR" registry value is added to the registry. These are usually done by
the manufacturers of higher resolution systems.

Set the DPI
These are the steps for changing the DPI setting on your system.

Right-click the Windows desktop to display the context menu.
Click Properties on the context menu to display the Display Properties
dialog.
Click the Settings tab on the Display Properties dialog to display the
Settings tab.
Click the Advanced button on the Settings tab to display the monitor
properties dialog.
Select a DPI setting in the Display frame of the monitor properties dialog
to change the DPI setting.
Restart your system to allow the changes to take effect.

Run REGEDIT to add the UseHR Registry Entry
The UseHR value is added to the Main key under "Internet Explorer" as
follows:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER
Software
Microsoft
Internet Explorer
Main
UseHR= dword:00000001

If the solution from Dell support works for you, don't bother with the
registry fix from msdn.

If these steps do not resolve your problem, please post back to this thread
with the details and any error messages.

Hope this helps
