photostory 3 saving problems to DVD

I was having problems saving to a DVD. I purchased the Sonic plug in and
saved in the the photostory 3 folder. When I now tell photostory 3 to save
to a DVD and then say continue saving to DVD the screen indicates it is
converting files. Almost immediately after it says it is burning the DVD I
get an error message-"Sonic DVD cannot create the DVD because an error
occurred."

If I try to create a DVD in Nero Express, it does not show the file that I
saved as a DVD as a recognized file in the video folder. It appears that
there is a problem converting the file.

I would appreciate any suggestions. I really the flexibility and ease of
use of the program but I am very frustrated with not being able to create a
DVD.

I don't know what the problem is with the Sonic burn software.

To burn a Photo Story 3 story with Nero Express, just save it as
a .wmv file (with, say, 1280x960 resolution) as if you were planning
to play it back on your computer. Then open Nero Express and import
the .wmv file, add whatever title menu you like, and then burn the
DVD. The result is much sharper than the Sonic DVDs, too.

DVD burning in NERO does not accept a WMV file if burning a DVD as photo and
video-burn DVD video files. It is looking for a file extension of IFO, VOB
or BUP.

Nero Express accepts .wmv files perfectly.

Are you using Nero Express or Nero Vision Express?

NeroVision Express 3, bundled with Nero 6.

Sorry about the name inaccuracy--I generally get to it via Nero's
"SmartStart" panel, so the name is not engraved in my mind. ;-)

I do not have Nero Vision Express 2 in Nero 6 Ultra. Do you know why the
sonic plug in isn't allowing me to create a DVD?

You should have it...it's part of the
package. If it's not included you may
be able to download it from the Nero site.

The following article may offer some
troubleshooting ideas. DIS9 includes
the Sonic burn engine so the problems
may be comparable to your issue:

Thank you to all for your help. I downloaded the additional programs,
including Nero Vision Express, and am now able to burn my slide show.
However, I did have an additional problem.

Would you believe that my problem was also caused by my NEC DVD_Rw ND-2510A
writer not writing to memorex cd's or dvd's. I went on line last night and
discovered that I am not alone with the problem. Something to remember.
Nero has in its error messages that a "power calibration error" can be caused
by the brand of cd. I tried a Maxell today and all is well. I would like to
sue somebody for recovery of my lost time as a result of this quirk.

You're welcome. I'm happy to see that
you solved your problem.

Compatibility of various hardware / software
is always an issue. Chalk it up to education
and keep on keeping on )

I too am having exactly the same problem and I too am a bit of a novice at
all this so please try to keep your replies in simple terms. I receive the
message "Sonic DVD cannot create the DVD because an error occurred". Can
anyone help me? I tried asking for help from the Microsoft site where I
downloaded the plug in but they weren't interested.
Please ?!?!?!?!?!
