PHOTOS AND VIDEOS MISSING

Ellie Smith

I have edited a movie several times but at the last edit all but a few of the
photos and videos were missing when I opend the project and substituted with
a red cross in their place. This has happened before. I have Vista and
movie maker 11. Any help appreciated.

Movie Maker .mswmm project files do
not include the source files. If the source
files are moved or deleted from their
original locations the links will be lost
and the Red Xs appear.

Try right clicking the Red Xs and see if
you can Browse to the original files and
re-establish the links.

Thanks for your help. The original source files were still intact.
Eventually I had to restore my new computer to the factory settings because I
was having quite a lot of different problems with Movie Maker. We'll see how
it goes. Thanks.

Thanks for all your help. The problem has not occurred again but if it does
I will try your suggestion. Currently I am working on the green band
scenario with the video squashed into the top half of the screen On it goes!

Some info from previous posters:

Fixing the Green Bar Problem in Windows Movie Maker
http://www.bernzilla.com/item.php?id=884

When I tried to follow the directions, I was unable to find XVid on my
computer. So I googled XVid and then went to ( I think) the 2nd entry to
download XVid. After I downloaded it, I was able to follow the directions
from bernzilla and when I published a video - Voila!! no green bar!!!!
