photo viewing program

I mostly work with MS Photo Editor. I want MS Photo
Editor to be my default photo viewing program for .JPG
files, NOT WINDOWS PICTURE AND FAX VIEWER. I have tried
going to file types and selecting Photo Editor, it
actually says "opens with Photo Editor" but when I click
it opens with WINDOWS PICTURE AND FAX VIEWER no matter
what I have done. I tried removing the .JPG item and re-
adding and that may have made things worse. I do notice
that set default is grayed out now, but at one time I
selected it as default, or so I thought. Anyone have an
idea how to get rid of this WINDOWS PICTURE AND FAX VIEWER
and make Photo editor my default viewer. I am getting
really frustrated ...... TIA if you can help

go to explorer, right click a .jpg and select 'open with'
you will get a window with a list of apps, choose your
selected app and check the box at bottom, then hit ok...
and you should be good

Thank You for responding, that did work. What I am really
looking for is the way to make Photo Editor the default
when I double click on a .JPG file. Do you know how to do
that?

Type "Regsvr32 /u shimgvw" in RUN box.
Restart

Double-click JPG files, it should open with it's associated application. If not, reassociate it to your program.
