Did you run one of these tools?

If not, do so. If you did and you are quite sure your computer is completely
clean:

Go to the Display applet in Control Panel and look on the Desktop tab. Click
on Customize Desktop, and then click on the Web tab. You will see that
there are checkmarks next to "My Current Home Page" and probably "Lock
Desktop Items". Uncheck these, Apply/OK out.

If you can't enable desktop backgrounds after a virus, MVP Kelly Theriot has
a fix. Look under Wallpaper-Desktop-Disable Changing here:

http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_w.htm

If Display tabs are missing, run Kelly's registry edit on line 285,
right-hand side "Restore all display tabs".

Pest Trap is a corrupt anti-spyware program that uses false positives. It
does not actually detect parasites, but targets harmless system and software
objects as threats in attempt to trick the user into purchasing the full
version of Pest Trap. The application itself is a clone of the infamous
SpySheriff rogue and similar programs such as SpywareNo!, SpyDemolisher and
Spyware-Stop. Pest Trap is an unsolicited program. It may harm your system
and violate your privacy!

launch at your computer's startup and scan your computer. Pest Trap may be
knowingly downloaded and installed by users, and it may be installed without
permission through browser exploits.

Wesley I saw those links also but wonder about them when they required
a software download. Made me think they might be as bad as the as the
Pest Trap.

They do not require a software download. Both pages offer software but have
manual removal instructions.

I only included the links to attribute the source of each quote. That is
the only reason that I included the links.

I did not intend for anyone to download anything.

The software from http://www.spywareremove.com/removePestTrap.html is
spyhunterS.exe the free version of SpyHunter and is legitimate.

What Spyware Warrior has to say about SpyHunter
http://www.spywarewarrior.com/rogue_anti-spyware.htm#sh_note

The software from http://www.2-spyware.com/remove-pest-trap.html is Spyware
Doctor, from www.pctools.com and is legitimate.

Spyware Doctor is a recommended program here.
http://spywarewarrior.com/asw-features.htm#rec

I do not use or recommend either one of them.
