Pesky Balloon tips

It had been so long since I reinstalled XP I have forgotten where I
can disable the "BALLOON TIPS" that greet me on the taskbar and
elsewhere at times.

I have looked everywhere but the right place.

Granted, one does not need TweakUI to do just one registry hack, but this
utility is a suite of registry patches and serves as the easiest way to
enable/disable any of its feature list. This was the whole basis for its
development. Most users find it to be a worthwhile tool to have available.
Google is not required.

Well, it all comes back. Thanks for the help fellows. I did have
Tweakui installed before and found it useful but forgot it had the
ability to do what I wanted..

Thanks again.

There is also some site windows annoyances.org or something like that.

I'm with you entirely. TweakUI doesn't do anything you can't do
without it. It's essentially nothing but a special-purpose
user-friendly registry editor. But if you can do something with
TweakUI, rather than editing the registry directly, it's always a
easier, safer way to accomplish it.

I'd rather do the individual registry patches (that I know what, where,
when, and how I am specifically doing some things for) than have it handled
behind the scenes by another app (like TweakUI).

Your choice, of course. My view is that you are taking unnecessary
risks when you do this.

Thanks to all for replies.

Just got back in town after long job out of town.

Again, my thanks!
