Permissions error in Win XP printing

This is more of an annoyance than anything since the
printer and printing capability actually work. We have
25 client pc's in a domain environment all running XP
Pro. I have set up a global group for printing in AD and
assigned permissions to it. However, when you open the
printers applet on a client and see the defaul printer
listed, right below it is always says, 'Access Denied,
Unable to connect' even though you can actually print
with no problems. Any ideas?

Yes I know exactly what is happening. This needs to be addressed at the
client but there is a post buried somewhere here where there was some DS
permission issue and the SIDs were not propagating tokens properly. See if
changing the settings on one of the clients resolves the issue. I'll try to
find the post.

This is the SERVER getting access denied talking to the spooler on the
client.

If you have rolled out some additional security on the clients you can see
this.

You might see this if the Internet Connection Firewall is enabled. You
might need to enable the sharing ports on the clients.
