Pendrive problem

I have some files on my Pendrive (solid state storage device) that I can't
delete. They've got weird filenames. I presume it is some sort of
corruption.

My problem is that I can't delete these files nor remove their folders. I've
tried to reformat the device but this doesn't work (the format process will
not begin).

How do you remove a file that refuses to go? Any ideas appreciated.

Cheers.

Tried going to your pen drive in a command prompt - without accessing it
first in a GUI window - and issuing a DELETE command?

On my pendrive there is a very small sliding switch on the side
labelled "lock". I haven't played with it, but I expect that sliding
that would make the drive a read-only device, and I would be unable to
read, write, or delete anything on it. So, the first thing I'd do with
your pendrive is look for such a switch and try sliding it to the
other position. It would be worth a try!
