Pen in show mode

In 2003 in the show mode the pen or the felt tip marker cursor is only a dot.
It is to hard to see and use I want the cursor to be a pen like it was in
versions earlier than 2003. Is that possible?:

I'm afraid this is not possible, I agree that it's really not an improvement
compared to earlier versions.

Yes the pen and felt tip marker "dot" in show mode is terrible. Is there
any way I can somehow do a macro or something and mke a pen.
