pegasus set up and avg anti-viruus

S

Seattle Norm

I am having dickens of a time as a new Pegasus user.
For one thing it ran just fine when I enjoyed a LAN connection with MSN DSL
services.

Then two things happened: (1) I installed AVG 6 personal anti-virus and my
Pegasus world fell apart.
AVG made it appear that virtually every email I received was virus laden.
Two, the email box was all fouled up...showing binary type characters for
the messages rather than the messages themselves. My email prompter still
allows me to get my old qwest mail but much of the description of the email
is either or in gibberish

(2) At least temporarily I am using a dial up service rather than DSL and I
believe I must have Pegasus misconifgured. I want my email to come to and
from (e-mail address removed) .as well as qwest my isp at work. Until I
lost DSL I was able to get mail from several pop3 servers. ..but I must not
have the commands or prompts down right..

any significant NEWBIE help would be much appreciated...especially interms
of getting mail from three or four different pop3 servers.

Hi. I notice you cross posted to <comp.mail.pegasus-mail.misc> and
<alt.comp.freeware>. Fwiw, you are more likely to receive help in
<comp.mail.pegasus-mail.ms-windows> and not the .misc group -
cf. the Pegasus-group charter
<http://google.com/groups?&[email protected]>-

As for <alt.comp.freeware>, well - when you need help with a program
and dedicated group for it exist - it is almost always better to ask
in the dedicated group first. :)
So - I've taken the liberty of adding <comp.mail.pegasus-mail.misc>
to the crossposting, but at the same time I have set Followup-To
to the same group. Meaning - replies to this message will only go to
<comp.mail.pegasus-mail.misc> - so this is where you should look for
replies to this message (why I quoted your question in full above). If
this is not ok with you - you can always re-edit the follow-up field
and the newsgroup (TO) field if you reply to this message.

All the best,
Bjorn Simonsen

ditto I meant: <comp.mail.pegasus-mail.ms-windows>
