Peer-to-peer network

I am trying to create a peer-to-peer network between a
system running Windows 2000 Pro and one running XP home.
Can this be successfully completed by a relatively
inexperienced/easily frustrated computer user? I have
attempted to follow the steps in the help segments of each
operating system, but I can't seem to make the network
function. Are there better step-by-step instructions
available somewhere--or should I just use my remaining
free incident to have a Microsoft tech carry me through
the whole process. Thanks.

Make sure all computers are in the same workgroup and that all useraccounts
exist on all computers. Got File- and printersharing loaded? Also the Client
for Microsoft Networks and the TCP/IP Protocol.
Do you use a crossovercable or a hub?
