Hi there, I am using Windows XP professional and was wondering if there was a
way for me to be able to connect to my peer to peer file sharing services and
torrent programs. right now, I think it is something with the service pack
that doesn't allow me to connect. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

How are you trying to connect to your p2p are you using the same program to
access the torrents or you trying to connect to one computer from another
computer. Most all p2p clients work with xp ie; emule, bit torrent, warz p2p,
limewire. They all work with xp sp1 and 2 as far as i know.

I use "soulseek" for my p2p downloads and I use "ABC" to download torrents.
I know these programs usually work on XP because I have them on my home
computer. But I am at college and they dont work on my laptop with XP. I
remember reading somewhere that the service pack sometimes limits the number
of connections your computer can make. Does this sound right? Is there
anything I can do about it?

Most collages block p2p file sharing programs from using there system because
they eat up the bandwidth you might want to try a deferent port for your file
sharing program to bypass the block since most file sharing programs use 64**
port im not sure where to setup in the programs you use trial and error . But
remember that the reason that schools and other companies block the programs
is due to the RIAA and MPAA going after file sharers and the schools that
allow them. BE WARNED and be carefull.
