Word peculiar problem with MS word

When I start MS word it gives error. "Microsoft office word has encountered a problem and needs to close " It shows Mod name as msvcr80.dll.
Also there is no template folder . It is missing. Hence can not find Normal.dot file.
Please help.

If you insert your Office CD (which version by the way?) you should get an option to do a repair install - this will copy and replace any missing/corrupt files

It is ms word 2007
I kmew that , I had tried it before, but not worked,
it has some thing to do with msvcr80.dll

Uninstall from control panel. Clean up and delete all temp files, Defrag, reboot and reinstall Word. I am a firm believer in installing anything over 100 mb to a clean & defraged hd!
