PCMCIA to SCSI adaptor

Paul

I have an EIGER LABS pcmcia card to scsi adaptor purchased
in 1997 or 98 to connect my laptop DELL running 3.1 to my
UMAX scanner. The EIGER device driver with the product
(EPX-SS1000 v2.0F)was compatible up to WIN 95 but is not
compatible with WIN 2000 -which is what my replacement
DELL Dimension laptop runs.

I am desparate for some advice on how I can find a
compatible driver that will work with this pc card from
EIGER. It appears that EIGER is out of business. They do
not even have a website anymore and, of course, never
responded to 2 e-mails I sent in April and May 03 before
the website disappeared.

Can anyone direct me to a solution (compatible driver)?

Any help is GREATLY appreciated

You will likely get things running in less time
if you just scrap the old hardware and get a new
card.

Then, of course, there's the problem of getting the scanner
a W2K compatible driver...seperate from the SCSI issue.

Perhaps just a new USB scanner, forget the whole old mess.

Paul:

DriverGuide.com lists the win95 driver as the last one available for that
card. An Adaptec 1460 SCSI costs around $15 on eBay (there are a couple
available for $8 using Buy It Now) and is recognized by Win2k without any
additional drivers. Sounds like a good idea to me, as Vance already
suggested.
