PC Locking Up

My PC in locking up several times a week. If I wait a few minutes, it always
responds but I don't know how to determine if the problem is my PC or my
server. I used road runner and my modem lights blink so the connection
appears good. If I call support they tell me there's no problem but by the
time I get them on the line, the PC is no longerb frozen. I do regular
maintenance on my PC. I run disk cleanup and defrag as well as Adaware,
Spybot, CCleaner, Spyblaster, and Windows Cleanup! Only a couple of
negligible objects ever appear in Adaware and I remove them. No trojans ever
appear. It up to date on Windows Updates. Can anyone provide tips on
isolating the problem? Thanks in advance.

Actually the modem lights should stay solid at all times but 1,and that gives
you activity view.Either way, unplug the modem for 5 min. or so,this resets
it,you might also before doing that and before you exit xp,go to run, type:cmd
In cmd type:netsh Winsock reset After you get "A restart is needed"
type:EXIT
Shutdown, reset modem. For other questions on lock up,open event viewer for
details with the OS.....
