does anyone know how i can use my pc as a phone. i already have my modem
line set up for other stuff but i want to be able to make phone calls from

1) You didn't read the replies.
2) You didn't Google very hard

IF you have a voice modem installed, you can find programs that will let you
do that.
If you want to use VOIP, it's a whole different deal.
Google is your friend, USE IT!

both of those applications charge you for the phone services. the modem
phone service one is not worth it. Skype is a keeper for sure. i like how it
uses the lan line instead of the rj11 line. i found other but they charged
as well. i found one that did not but it was for Windows 9x and did not work
on my pc. since i could not find good software i went looking for hardware.
i ended up finding a nice pcmcia card that gives your pc an internet
connection via your cellphone. it is only compatible with certian phones

i have done that. it comes close to what i want.

i already have a phone service via phone line. i just want an application
that will let take advantage of that.
