Patch Management

SJMP

My env is to small to roll out WSUS. I dont want updates installed on the
clients automaitcally aka without testing.

Is there a tool to scan the PC's on my domain to see what machines are
patched and what machines need certain patches?

THanks,
Scott

Hello Scott,

Thank you for using newsgroup!

Based on my knowledge, you may use WSUS to control if the updates will be
deployed to some clients. You may change approval method to achieve your
goal. The WSUS will first detect all updates from windows update site which
you can deploy to your clients. Then you may choose if the updates will be
applied to your some clients.

Thanks & Regards,

Ken Zhao

Thanks Ken

Is there any other tools offered by MS without installing WSUS. I dont have
a spare server to put it on.

Hi Scott,

Based on my knowledge, WSUS is a best solution to achieve your goal. Based
on my knowledge, there is no other tools to do this job. Maybe you may find
some third party tools from the internet to do this job.

Thanks & Regards,

Ken Zhao
