Dear Sir/Madam,

The symptom you describe has many possible causes. Here are some
recommendations:

1. You may have a corrupt profile: try logging in with a different user
name/password combination (for example, the Administrator account).

2. If you are logging into a domain, try logging on locally.

3. If you changed out or added new hardware, particularly a drive, your
drive letter for the OS drive may have changed. See the following KB

4. You may have a problem with MSGina.dll. See this KB Artlcle and

5. Try booting the system using Safe Mode:
