password question

I have a password set up on a database for a group of users. The
administrator wanted the password changed, and I did this. When you open the
database from a server drive, it requires the new password, but users who
were using their old shortcut was able to open the database with the old
password. How do you work around this, do I have to manually go and delete
the shortcuts?
thanks,

Presumably they are still using the old version of the application?
There are several techniques forcing people to be on the current
version. Often discussed in the newsgroups so you should have no
trouble finding some leads at groups.google.com.

Of course if you stored the (encrypted) password in a back-end table
rather than in the source code you would not have these problems.
