Password protection

Are you using the exact same XP sign-in account that you set those
permissions with? By default, only that accoust would have access to it.
So if you created it with an Admin account and then tried to access it
with a Limited Account, you wouldn't be able to.

I'm wondering if you accidentally did something else? Can you recite
precisely as possible the exact steps and dialog boxes you used to make
the folder private and apply a password? Include the names of each
program you used; e.g. windows explorer, clicked Tools, clicked ...
etc.. I believe that may pin down the problem much better as there are
a lot of different ways you could have done it.



Yes, but it might require a 3rd party program to do precisly what you
want. XP works by user access controls for the person's account they
sign into the computer with. Whichever user created the folder would be
the only one to be able to see it as long as the didn't mark it to be
shared.
